A concept that is taking shape as I observe the making of my work when using mechanical machines, is the concept of my body being used as a tool and mimicking that of the fabrication process.

My concern is how these tools reconstruct my marks and in turn how I use these to extend my body. I become an important agent in the work where I am allowing or intervening the digital to render the resulting image. I particularly observe my body as a tool when I'm at the screen printing table and how I use the process instinctively by the constant shifting of paper and masking areas. I also use the weight of my body when using the squeegee to apply less or more pressure to create the effect of the photocopier. The usual method of taking a screen print is that you apply an even, firm amount of pressure to run a even saturation of colour but I like to disrupt this and see what happens. There is always this dialogue going on between myself and the mechanical apparatus, I enjoy this process as the dexterity in my hands makes it difficult to draw and make fine marks or work for a long period of time. However, the screen printing process involves different muscles and disciplines in my body to make the prints.
