The above print fragments have developed naturally from my screen printing activity and the voids of space that manifest between the pixel. I placed sections of glossy paper to mask out sections when pulling my prints. The above leftover fragments dissolve and dissect the imagery; they become nothing, yet something and have no clear narrative. I like the ambiguity in them and offer many options to experiment positioning them throughout the studio space. They have a real tactile quality when running my fingers over them, they morph into a type of language, brail or an unknown dialect totem. More of the ink sits on the surface due to the glossy nature of the paper which adds to this quality.

I like the potential for them to be configured in many different ways, and allow me to respond to the present studio space. Having them extend from the wall and float downwards gives them a sense of depth and structure; they become three-dimensional. Placing them on the floor provides another totally different feeling, where they converse with the route of the flooring. What these fragments are ultimately proving me is a way to extend beyond the gallery wall and occupy the vacant floor / central space.
